Jaime's cell phone is more or less plugged riiiight into his brain, so he tends to pick up like 99% of the time! If not, however...
"Hey, Jaime here! Leave a message, and I'll get back to you ASAP."
"Hey, Jaime here! Leave a message, and I'll get back to you ASAP."
text no it actually isn't all that neverending, she just goes prematurely gray...sort of
text oh well AT LEAST SHE CAN SWING IT. rock that grey, kitty jones
text awwww yisssss
Not good news, no. I mean...Don't get me wrong, I'm not scared to grit my teeth and do things I don't like. Obviously. But I really can't imagine that I'd be any good at it at all. And I'd HATE it. The thought of having to kiss up to people I hate makes me SICK, and I talked it over enough with Mandrake to know that I won't be able to just chuck all the people I hate overboard. But...You know. I promised Mandrake that I'd try, that I'd study so that I can get ready for it, and he's gone now so I can't even take my word back. But that's not who I want to be.
text
I think you'd be good at it though.
text
I just...I don't know. I wish I had more information. I wish Mandrake hadn't left. I've just been feeling sick with it for a little while now. It's part of why I'm going.
text
Sick with what? Your future or with people leaving?
text
And truthfully...I'm not certain. Both, maybe. All of it.
text
I get what you mean though. That's something that most people here have to deal with but nobody really talks about it. It's so weird that it's kind of weird to figure out what to say you know? It's tough when it's stuff that we can't do anything about. Not right now anyway
text
Anyway, seriously? Public speaking? As in, you're afraid of having to talk to crowds?
text
I never said I was afraid! I'm just not good at it
[NO HE'S TOTALLY SCARED OF IT]
Re: text
And all right, what parts of it aren't you good at? I don't really think there's much to it TO be good at, really, since it's just going up there and saying something true, but you never do quite know.
text
Probably cause stopping the dude punching people in the face is easier
[An eloquent response for a well thought out critique.]
Ehhh I'm just not as good with words
[He's such a bullshitter. He's not great with words, okay, point in his favour, but when the cameras are turned on him, he just stutters, mumbles, and looks anxiously for the next exit. Maybe Kitty will never know.]
text
Anyway, what's that even mean, not good with words? You communicate just fine, don't you. I've always understood you. What more is needed?
text
Anyway case in point is that you were able to write out like an entire lecture in about thirty seconds and I wrote you back one line. To be a good public speaker you can't just say one thing and then be like yeah okay I'm done. You need some serious speechifying skills
text
Anyway, you could have said a lot more if you'd wanted to. You were just being a bit lazy. Anyway, no one LIKES hearing someone prattle on and on. Eurgh, like there was this one junior junior undersecretary to the minister for education or something of that sort who came to our graduation ceremony and went on and on and on and on and on and on...It must have been two hours he talked. I nearly ran up to the podium and slapped him. I'd sooner have someone who says one thing and then is like yeah I'm done.
text
[HE'S GOING TO SHAVE IT OFF ONE DAY. Other than that, though... YIKES. Does she know? Is she certain, or is she just throwing guesses out there? What does he say?
Deflect! Deflect, deflect, nothing suspicious to see here, nosiree, not at all!]
And I think you'd be a little surprised by how not rowdy my company actually is when you get to know them. They're all rough on the outside with ooey gooey centers. It's kind of a running trend.
I guess you're right though I like people who keep it short and simple too. I didn't actually listen to the guy talking at my graduation. I was playing on my phone
text
'Running trend.' PLEASE tell me that was intentional.
And I don't expect any of those graduation speeches are worthwhile, anyway. They're all pretty predictable - go out, join the workforce, make yourself a productive member of society.
text
I went to an elementary school graduation too. That one wasn't so bad.
text
text
text
That's sweet. And really weird. They're just doing more school after that, right? But it's still really sweet. And I bet the speech was less unbearable. Less of 'diligent work will serve the glory of your nation' and more of 'well done, all of you.'

Plus there was cake

Not a bad one for little kids right?
[it's so cheesy, and read constantly, but whatever. There's certainly worse out there.]
