Not good news, no. I mean...Don't get me wrong, I'm not scared to grit my teeth and do things I don't like. Obviously. But I really can't imagine that I'd be any good at it at all. And I'd HATE it. The thought of having to kiss up to people I hate makes me SICK, and I talked it over enough with Mandrake to know that I won't be able to just chuck all the people I hate overboard. But...You know. I promised Mandrake that I'd try, that I'd study so that I can get ready for it, and he's gone now so I can't even take my word back. But that's not who I want to be.

Nothing saying that your future's set in stone either. If you remember what you know here that makes you a different person from the Kitty that that Mandrake guy knows. I think we get a lot of talk with all these different times like everything's set in stone but thinking like that is enough to make you go crazy

I get what you mean though. That's something that most people here have to deal with but nobody really talks about it. It's so weird that it's kind of weird to figure out what to say you know? It's tough when it's stuff that we can't do anything about. Not right now anyway

Give people a little credit. It's hard not to get sidetracked when things start getting bombed and supervillains start going on rampages. You kind of have to split your attention when that kind of thing happens

No, I do get that. It's just that when those things happen, it's like EVERYONE jumps to attention. You don't bloody well see the entire imPort community frothing at the chance to go downtown to help build homes for the poor on the weekend, but the moment some wanker wearing arse-lifting leiderhosen starts panting about his plans for world domination, suddenly the street is thick with us. Honestly, really, don't get me wrong, I KNOW we can't just let wicked people do as they ought and we're better at stopping them than the police are. But really, I just wish that people would get excited about fighting poverty the way they get excited about fighting crime. And all right, what parts of it aren't you good at? I don't really think there's much to it TO be good at, really, since it's just going up there and saying something true, but you never do quite know.

Yeah, well, there's one thing in the world worth doing that's easy: breathing. Everything else worthwhile is hard, isn't it. Anyway, punching usually doesn't solve anything anyway, does it? You've got to either kill him outright or remove his reasons for doing the things he does. And that doesn't come from everyone hitting him. Anyway, what's that even mean, not good with words? You communicate just fine, don't you. I've always understood you. What more is needed?

Anyway case in point is that you were able to write out like an entire lecture in about thirty seconds and I wrote you back one line. To be a good public speaker you can't just say one thing and then be like yeah okay I'm done. You need some serious speechifying skills

And I think you'd be a little surprised by how not rowdy my company actually is when you get to know them. They're all rough on the outside with ooey gooey centers. It's kind of a running trend.

I guess you're right though I like people who keep it short and simple too. I didn't actually listen to the guy talking at my graduation. I was playing on my phone

'Running trend.' PLEASE tell me that was intentional. And I don't expect any of those graduation speeches are worthwhile, anyway. They're all pretty predictable - go out, join the workforce, make yourself a productive member of society.

I went to an elementary school graduation too. That one wasn't so bad.

Yep. Sometimes elementary schools will have little graduations too for the kids and a kid I know was graduating so we all went to cheer him on. It was pretty cute

That's sweet. And really weird. They're just doing more school after that, right? But it's still really sweet. And I bet the speech was less unbearable. Less of 'diligent work will serve the glory of your nation' and more of 'well done, all of you.'

Yeah they're doing a lot more school. It's kind of a congratulations on getting this far and to say good bye once they go to a new school? The speech is all about opportunities and how great they're gonna do. They read from some picture book too.

Oh, that's REALLY sweet. What a completely lovely thing to do. The kids must have been awfully excited.

It takes a little more than that to excite the kid I know but I think he had fun anyway. The rest of them were pretty excited too. Where I'm from they always read a poem to the kids on the graduation. It's kinda cheesy but it's sweet too. Hold on I think I remember the part I had to memorize when I was in school

"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And you are the one who'll decide where to go."

Not a bad one for little kids right?
