[He's just gonna hand off his brother-in-a-comm to the next person.]

Yeah sure thing. I'll leave the door unlocked.

If you're hungry I've got snacks I'll pull em out

[Because someone who's supposed to be eating him out of house and home is gone... again. Sigh.]

[And as soon as he's got Hiro's comm to someone else, he spends a few minutes to get his breath and sort his head out before he heads over. He knocks twice, waits, then pokes his head in the door.]

[And that's Jaime's head, poking around the corner.]

Hey!

[Jaime's not unaware of the fact that Tadashi's request may not be one that was made because he wants to hang out, but because stuff's been hard. That's okay. Unless something newly awful has happened, he's willing just to be that guy Tadashi can hang out with again.]

I told you you could come in, remember? Just shut the door behind you.

[tadeadshi]

Right, okay! Okay.

[And closing the door! See, he's a good house guest. But there's definitely.. new. awful stuff. He just doesn't feel like talking about it. He really does want to just hang out though. The house set up is at least the same as his aunt's so he can guess where he's walking into when he follows Jaime's voice around that corner, plops himself ceremoniously onto the couch. But the bags under his eyes are definitely worse than last time Jaime saw him. He slept fourteen hours and woke up to an even worse mess than he could have imagined.]

How've you been? Since we've had that whole two-weeks-nonstop.

Aw, I've been fine.

[The kid who's practically his little brother got Porter out, maybe for good, and he found out that the closest thing he had to a mentor tries to nuke him when he evidently does wind up on the dark side, but, you know. He's fine.

Besides, if he's been feeling crappy, Tadashi looks even worse. He's going to ask. He will ask, just... he'll give the guy a little space first.]

Remote's all yours, buddy. My Netflix account is your Netflix account, [he says, handing it over, and rising to his feet. The only indication that he knows something's wrong for the time being is the way he looks Tadashi over then says, lightly,] Today a coffee kinda day, or a juice one?

[Does Tadashi want to wire himself awake for a little longer or pass out on Jaime's couch? God knows Armin crashes here often enough.]

[He's already had the pleasure of Hiro not only realizing Tadashi was still having nightmares, but actually seeing it through the combination of the comm and his technopathy. He's not in the mood for a repeat performance. Especially not around Jaime.]

Coffee if you've got some fresh.

[He looks to the remote... Then to the screen. He honestly doesn't even feel like looking for something else to change it, so it'll be the same show Jaime was watching by the time he comes back.]

I can put some on. You take any cream or sugar?

[Jaime keeps it around for emergencies, mostly. He's not a big coffee guy, and when he does drink it, it's thoroughly watered down with cream and sugar, or else he just chokes it down for a caffeine rush before work or patrol. Nevertheless, he's got it in the house for guests.

Jaime brings back the mug of coffee and whatever Tadashi asked to have with it and hands it over, eyes flicking over to where the TV is still playing that documentary he had playing in the background (there's a book he'd been reading on the coffee table, splayed with a broken spine, because Jaime's a plebe who forgets to use bookmarks), but he doesn't comment on it yet, just settles down beside Tadashi.]

[Truth be told? That documentary is pretty dang interesting once he paid attention to it. But having coffee offered gets even more attention and he carefully takes that first sip.

He at least has the decency to take his shoes off before pulling his feet up on the couch. He waits for a break in the documentary's narration before saying anything.]

You ever think about dog-earing the page instead?

[Jaime keeps one of his own legs tucked underneath him while he sips at his drink of choice - juice, thank you very much - evidently content to let the documentary's rambling occupy the silence hanging over the room. He'll probably let it play to its closing before finally getting to the bottom of things, but there's not too much time left.

He glances over at Tadashi at his question, then down at his book.]

Oh, yeah. I think about it, and then I forget and just sorta splat it on the table instead, [he says with a shrug.] I know, I know, I'm killing the book.

[tadeadshi]

Nah, not killing it. Giving it some different character from its brethren.

[He smiles, quietly content for the lightheartedness of that starting conversation. But Tadashi just as easily lets it quiet again when the narration picks up again.

Oh right, something else he came with. He shifts and holds out a game case - a katamari game - sets it on the coffee table.]

Sorry, but I don't really know where Wally lives, but if you see him before I do, d'you mind giving that to him? Made a joke about not giving him his souvenirs but he really wanted his own copy of that.

[Jaime picks it up and turns it over in his hands. A game. He bought Wally a game. Man, these things are expensive! Did Tadashi use his birthday money for this, or is Tony Stark that great of an employer? Maybe the Hamadas and the speedsters are just raking in some serious dough.]

You'd better be careful, giving me his presents. I might keep it for myself. I still owe him some payback anyway.

[He puts it back on the coffee table. Yeah, yeah, he'll pass the thing on.]

[tadeadshi]

[He makes a good bit of money and that whole vacation he took? He found out after the fact was a paid vacation. There are worse things he could be doing with that money.]

If you do that, I'm gonna have to take Shinjiro's copy back so I can finally play it.

No way. I'm claiming two for myself. You can take Viva Pinata.

[Tadashi may not get the joke -- which is that Jaime gave Shinji Katamari, and Shinji gave him Viva Pinata. Their games always seem to end up at each other's homes... which he's mostly to blame for. Whoops.]

[tadeadshi]

[He doesn't get the specific joke but he snorts that he gets offered the game with the title "Live". Irony, thy name is Jaime Reyes.]

Still not giving him his souvenirs until all my tools are out of jello and cleaned up.

[Yeppppp.

Casually sips that coffee.]

[Jaime looks at Tadashi over his juice, no trace of surprise on his face, only sheer exasperation in his half-lidded eyes.]

The month leading up to my birthday? He pranked me. Every. Day. Snuck some chemical in my coke so I pissed blue for a day.

[He knows exactly how Wally works.]

[tadeadshi]

[He has to set his coffee down quick because Tadashi almost spills it laugh-choking on it. Oh god. Oh god he feels bad for Jaime but that's a really great prank.]

That's -- Oh my god, I'm sorry, but that's amazing. [Laugh!] And dedication.

[He laughs another minute before he finally can get his breath.]

Don't you laugh at my pain! [Jaime says, a note of mock outrage entering his voice.] I was traumatized. Screamed so loud that my roomie came running, all Jaime! Jaime, are you okay? Did you fall?

[That did, in fact, happen. Which is embarrassing, but whatever, it's got Tadashi laughing.]

To be fair, you are friends with Wally, so -- [BREATHE okay breathing.] You accepted the risks from the start.

Well, you are too, now. That means that you don't get to complain the next time you go into work and your entire work station's been, like, set up in reverse or something.

[A talented prankster, Jaime ain't. He frowns.]

No, that's a terrible prank.

[tadeadshi]

[Oh. Oh no hold on, he's got something for this. He gets his phone out and scrolls through his pictures. He snapped one quick shot before he started cleaning it up; he passe the phone over to Jaime to show off the beautiful scene he found his lab station in.]

I think he's accepted me, I dunno.

[khajidont]

Oh my god. Oh my god, he actually bought a... [Jaime covers his hand with his mouth, eyes wide, torn between amusement and alarm with what Wally sees fit to do with his spare time. Did he order it online? Did he wander into a sex store? Does Jaime really want to know?]

He spent serious cash on you, dude! You've been accepted into the West Circle of Torment! Send me a copy, I wanna keep that forever.

[tadeadshi]

[No one truly wants to know the answer to that question. But! Tadashi takes the phone back, shaking his head.]

No way. I'm keeping this as evidence when he complains about whatever I do. Besides, I told him he's not getting his souvenirs until he cleans it all up.

[Plus he has a serious idea to do to Jaime in a few months and he's not giving him physical ammunition.]

With one exception, I guess.

[Jaime nods over at Wally's brand new copy of Katamari. He's lucky his friends are so forgiving.

Jaime's already given Wally his souvenirs anyway... and now that he thinks about it, he's getting souvenirs from three of them. Go figure.]
