[KF comes screeching to a halt in front of House 15 not even ten minutes later, clutching a green hoodie in his hands and circling around the building as he tries to find Jaime's window.]

Hey! [stop shouting kf it's the middle of the goddamn night]

Dude, you're gonna wake my roomies.

[It's said without much heat, though, and Jaime saves Wally the trouble of clambering into his room by simply hopping out of his bedroom window and onto the lawn. He outstretches his arm, gesturing at the hoodie.]

Here, hand it over.

[Wally could care less about waking up some strangers, but it's probably not a good idea to agitate the guy doing you a favor. He thrusts the hoodie into Jaime's hands and commences nervous speedster pacing, arms folded and fingers tapping too-quick against his bicep.]

How long will this take? Do I need to do anything else for it?

Nah, just give me a sec.

[To Wally, it will look as if Jaime's just holding onto the hoodie, staring absently off into the distance. Jaime, however, sees what the Scarab sees, scanning the hoodie for any remnants of DNA.]

No DNA found.

[Jaime frowns, and then responds to the Scarab in a mutter, clearly not talking to Wally. He holds the hoodie up and shakes it, as if that will somehow solve matters.] What do you mean, none found? There's gotta be skin flakes or something. Try again.

No remnants found. Person Designated [Robin] is cleaner than you.

Seriously? [Jaime sighs, and hands the hoodie back over.] So, uh, it looks like Robin keeps his clothes really, really clean. I can't do anything if it's like this just came off the rack.

Okay, putting aside you talking to yourself because I'm gonna ask about that later, [Wally grabs the hoodie back] there's no way you can't use this. He wears this thing like every week. There's got to be something.

[Oh good, he's the guy that talks to himself again. This tends to happen with other heroes.]

Nada. If there was something on there, I would've found it. [He doesn't speak with cockiness so much as he speaks with confidence. He knows what the Scarab is capable of, and DNA tracking is just one of the basics.

Then again, he's sparred with Robin. No matter how careful he was, there's no way Robin can keep all DNA away from the Scarab's sensors; his hair falls out just like every other human's does.] Hold up, let me try something out. Just -- keep it a better secret than your ID, okay? And just... ignore the talking to myself for a sec.

[Kid Flash is a Titan, and he's one of the originals. This isn't like Ravager, or Bombshell; Kid Flash is in charge of keeping Flash's ID a secret, which means he must be trustworthy, right?]

Dude, you find Rob and I'll keep whatever secrets and ignore whatever you want. [KF might not be very good at hiding himself, but he doesn't rat out his friends. That he's put Robin's identity to such risk tonight is a testament to how worried he is, and maybe he's not just worried because Robin was a few hours late for patrol.]

Okay. [Honestly? Even if Kid Flash went full douchebag and said that he was going to spill every secret he had, Jaime would have tried to help out anyway. He's not that kind of guy.]

Did sparring with Robin give you enough info to work off of? [He asks the Scarab.]

Affirmative.

[Black carapace spreads over his fingers, and a blue screen lights up in front of them, projected by his fingertips. On the projection is a map of Heropa.] Okay, go for it.

[The map zooms out, expanding to cover the neighboring areas as the Scarab runs a search for Robin, albeit the wrong one; it's searching for Tim Drake, not Dick Grayson, though neither Jaime nor Wally know it. Instead of responding inside Jaime's head, the Scarab deigns to flash a slightly darker blue text over the screen.]

[That is- okay not the weirdest thing Wally's seen, but it's pretty new. He takes a half-step back -as if Jaime needs the room or something- and watches closely as what looks like a search program pops up. He recognizes a few of the features -that one block that has all the little businesses crammed together, the elementary school and middle school only a street apart- but it zooms out to cover a wider search range and everything turns into squares and lines.

And then the text.]

...right.

[Kid Flash rubs a hand over his mouth.]

Then I'm gonna go talk to the Shade. Even if he didn't do it, he might know something.

[Jaime continues frowning at the screen for another moment, put off by what he sees there. The Scarab hadn't said that it couldn't find Robin, or that something was obstructing its sensors, just that he hadn't been found.]

He could have been ported out, you know. If there's a way to check that, we should look into that too.

[It's a communal effort by this point. He's not just going wish KF luck and tell him to beat it, after all.]

[Wally shakes his head, balling up the hoodie in his hands.] I don't know how to check that. And if I do some huge community-wide amber alert thing for him, he will literally kill me later. [He's already done enough to jeopardize Robin's secret ID. Besides that, Wally's pretty sure the only thing that could give him a definite yes or no on whether or not Robin was ported out is the military, and Wally's not about to take them at their word.]

I'm just- I'll have to keep looking. [He'll ask the Shade. He'll see if Robin had any hard copies of his files anywhere, or go through his room for a USB or something. He must've had backups somewhere; maybe there are some of their enemies kicking around somewhere.

Finding Robin would be so much easier with Robin around to help.]

Okay. Look, if for some reason the Shade is behind all this - [though he can't for the life of him think of why] - and you end up needing to go after him, give me a call. I might be able to lend a hand.

[He'd bet on it, in fact, Having two superheroes around is always better than one, and though the Shade must be a major supervillain to go toe-to-toe with someone like the Flash, Jaime figures he might have a trick or two up his sleeve to give him a run for his money.

He hopes, anyway.]

Until then, I'll check out a little further, see what I can find.

[KF gives Jaime a long, searching look. He's got some kind of powers, that's for sure, and he seems pretty familiar with Robin. There's already Power Girl, who knows them from the future, but Jaime said he'd never heard of Kid Flash. Why would he lie?

Yeah, it's suspicious. Wally wants to get Robin back, but he can't drag someone into their problems when he's not even sure he can handle himself.] Who are you? You do know about me, don't you?

I guessed you were Kid Flash earlier, remember? [Jaime lets the carapace on his fingertips melt back into his body and absently brushes them across his pantleg.]

I'm the Blue Beetle. You said that Robin looked really young earlier, so... I think I'm from your future. Where I'm from, he's taller than me.

[Wally wants to smack himself on the forehead because of course that display looked familiar. Still, though, something about this...isn't.]

Are you sure you wanna say future? Because the last time I checked, Blue Beetle wasn't a kid.

[Well, this is awkward. Time travel blows. How has Booster been handling it all this time? Jaime drops his gaze to the ground, wondering if KF and Ted had known each other at all, then raises his head again.]

I'm Blue Beetle the third, actually.

Really? Okay. [KF will probably ask more about that later, but he's a man on a mission. There's too much to do now, and not enough time to do it in.

He's not sure he wants Jaime at his back in a fight just yet though. Not because he seems untrustworthy, but...something bothers him. He's from the future, knows Robin well enough to comment on his height but doesn't know about Wally? Or he lied about knowing Kid Flash?

Yeah. It's just weird.]
