We don't want anything. But he won't leave us alone. Especially Gon. He doesn't get in the way all of the time, either... Sometimes he helps out.

[Ugh making faces, because he freaks Killua out more openly than Gon.]

Anyway, the point is, we're used to him and how strong he is. But if he's bored by you he won't hesitate to kill you. ...Or if you're too strong, I guess.

[He raises one hand to the camera, lifting a single finger to point upwards in thought.] We're strong and we still have potential. He basically gets off on that, so it's not like he's after us so much as he wants to watch us. So, he probably won't hurt either of us.

But that doesn't mean you're safe, so you should stay away.

[He's going to do the absolute opposite of staying away, but that doesn't mean that it's not considerate of Killua - a twelve year old - to give him a warning. At least it gives him a nice little glimpse into Hisoka's psyche.]

How'd you guys manage to attract this creep in the first place, anyway? Gon said something about a Hunter Exam.

[Just listen to him, okay? There's nothing in his tone that suggests he won't from what Killua hears, but he's got a bad feeling! Still, he'll leave it at that and move on to answering the question.]

Oh, right. That's how I met Gon, too. During the first test, I noticed he had this really freaky feeling about him... So I told Gon we should stay away from him and we moved forward. [They got separated there, but he's still not quite sure what happened...]

For the fourth test, we were assigned targets. The goal was to keep our own number badge and get our target's badge, or get enough badges to equal the same number of points to pass. Gon's target was Hisoka.

Ah. That explains that. [At least Hisoka isn't just hunting kids down in the street. Probably.] What's this hunter thing all about, anyway? It's first I've heard about anything like that.

[Finally, some of the concern bleeds out of his voice, only to be replaced with simple curiosity. He's still worried, but he plans on dealing with it later in his own way.]

[JAIME, PLEASE... At this rate Killua is going to have to go visit Hisoka to find out if he visited Hisoka, or if Gon visited Hisoka to check if Jaime had visited Hisoka-- Basically Jaime is helping Hisoka get plenty of visitors.

As for explanations, though, Killua may be the best person to ask. He smiles a little at that, simply out of remembering the first exam (until the end) and meeting Gon and their other friends.]

A Hunter is someone who passes the Hunter Exam and gets a license. It's a suuuuuper rigorous test, and the exam has different judges every year. The judges are hunters who have passed already, and basically can make the test be whatever they like. So it depends on the personality of the judge that round to decide which type of Hunters pass. [While he may be the best person to ask, he might also be the worst because tl;dr.]

With a Hunter's license, you can travel to restricted areas, get jobs just by showing the license, and get access to guarded information. There's also ten 'commandments' to abide by, but for the most part you can get away with killing someone.

Hm, but what we found out after that first exam is that even if you have the license, you still have to complete a secret exam to be realized as a professional Hunter. That's a longer story, but you can just think of it as Gon, Hisoka and I are all professional Hunters.

Huh. That's... different.

[He's never heard of anything like it before. It sounds like seriously intense hazing for a very exclusive frat house, but he suspects that no Hunter would appreciate the comparison.]

We don't have anything like that where we're from. What's with the getting away with murder bit, anyway? Is killing people a big part of the job?

There are a lot of Hunters that go after people with high bounties or heavy crimes. Or some others get involved in a lot of stuff normal people can't really deal with, so there are plenty of situations where you could end up needing to kill someone in order to survive or find something out.

The only exception is you're not allowed to kill another Hunter unless they've committed atrocities.

[He shrugs a little on camera, comm moving with his hand.]

It's really huge where we're from. But a lot of people don't pass and have to take the exam over and over again, if they don't die.

Ah, well... I didn't really care about becoming a Hunter or anything. I just heard it was a really tough test and I wanted to see what the hype was all about.

[He frowns for a moment as he thinks here-- it was largely disappointing, but still, he hadn't passed his first exam. That was totally his brother's fault (it's not fair to take it at the same time just to follow him!!), but he'd still rather not mention what happened there.]

I was expecting more. It's fine, though. I met Gon, and now I'm helping him find his dad.

[Killua heard that there was a hidden test that mandated murder and quite frequently killed people, and he wanted to take it for the hell of it, huh? That's something to tuck away for later.]

Oh yeah? What happened to his dad?

But to that question, he'd be more careful answering if it were anyone Gon didn't know and clearly like, but since he's open with it anyway and Killua knows him well...]

He abandoned him to become a Hunter. Gon wants to know why, so that's why he became a Hunter, too.

[That catches him off guard. Gon, lucky to have him? No, it's definitely the other way around. Thoughts like that color his cheeks pink and leave him to remember the incident with Kite, and each time he'd held Gon back.

He ends up looking off-screen with a small smile, but there's sadness buried behind that for anyone who can look close.]

...Yeah, I'm pretty lucky. [A pause, and he blinks away that embarrassment, smiling more confidently back at the camera.] But we promised we'd stay together, so I'm not really surprised. Gon has a way of making things work in his favor.

[No matter what...] What about you, Jaime? Do you have any friends from home, here?

Yup. My friend Brenda showed up here just a few months after I did. We've known each other, oh... since we were five? So I got pretty lucky too.

Whoa, that long? That's pretty cool!

[He's only recently made friends so he's never known anyone but his family or butlers that long!!]

I haven't known Gon for nearly as long, but I still think I know him well. [He's turning this conversation back in the initial point again, because--] So you should trust me when I say even if he's not the same strength as Hisoka, he knows him enough to deal with him. We've been doing it this whole time, so it's fine. Okay?

[He's so pointed with these comments.]

[And with every word, Killua only hammers in the point that someone needs to keep their eye out for Hisoka to make sure he doesn't try anything untoward. He frowns.]
You shouldn't had to deal with him. [Then, because he's slowly becoming aware that he can't treat Killua and Gon like regular twelve year olds, he clarifies,] Nobody should.

Let's just say it's a good thing he's behind bars.
