I don't know what I expected, to be honest.

Yeah point. The first time I got ported out and back I'd missed some crazy infection so it's always going to be something.

I'm not sure if that really is the question. They showed us two ways it could go REALLY wrong but they didn't show us the other five hundred ways it could go a little better or a little worse.

I think it would take something big for it to go either way. We could probably use a little positive PR these days though

Another information leak spreading a bunch of nasty rumors about imPorts at the last swearing in.

It was over at the Jefferson hotel and they were giving a press conference about how they were worried about Russia and they wanted everyone to be alert. Lots of propaganda everywhere that kind of thing

Again? These information leaks don't do a whole lot of damage as far as I know, but people sure are persistent.

It hurts the people who are mentioned. Maybe not in the long run but people have lost their jobs and it's not easy having all this stuff spread around about you.

But you're right I don't think it does the kind of lasting damage that whoever spilled it wants it to do. Not now anyway. Things are getting kinda rough in MF for imports right now

Yeah, I've had some things in the paper spread about me before. Not that it wasn't exactly false but I get it.
So information leak, followed by visions of the past and potential futures? I don't get it, but I don't like it.

Either way, Jaime asks to talk to her in-person, which again, isn't the thing he wants to do, but it seems much fairer than doing it over text.

[ It didn't sound urgent, but their usual conversations tend to be strictly work related so Peej doesn't waste her time heading over. She lands a couple of blocks away from the housing area as she isn't in costume and she doesn't want Jaime to be caught trying to explain why there's a superheroine in the house.

A few minutes later she makes her way up the pathway and to the front door and knocks. ]

Hi.

[Jaime doesn't necessarily look happy to have her here, but he's at least trying to school his expression into one that doesn't make him look like he's actually dying of dread. He manages something of a halfway point.]

C'mon in. This, um...

[He's about to say this won't take long, but it's likely that it'll take about as long as Power Girl wants it to take. Instead, he gestures to the kitchen.]

Have a seat. D'you want anything to drink?

[ She quickly denotes his expression, but says nothing yet until she's entered the house. What's gotten into Jaime to make him so skittish? Whatever it is, it can't be good. ]

I'm good for now.

[ Her hands rest against her hips. ]

It didn't sound like an emergency, but you're not looking okay.

It's not an emergency! It's just, um.

[Okay, maybe small talk beforehand isn't going to happen. He leans against the kitchen counter, trying to figure out a tactful way to phrase things, and utterly failing.]

I should've told you something before that I didn't. I didn't even know it was a big deal until Superman told me it was, and I would've told you then, but you got ported out.

[Well, may as well come out with it then.]

My suit can produce Kryptonite radiation.

[ She heard him perfectly. In fact, before she can even pose her question she's already withdrawn a couple of steps reflexively. She stares at Jaime with her mouth hanging slightly open in shock. ]

Why do you have that?

[ Her affect is sharper and suspicious this time. ]

[Whoops.

Maybe that wasn't the best way to say it. But Jaime didn't see any other way of softening it, or beating around the bush, and -- oh, this is why he doesn't keep any secrets, even if he hadn't been consciously keeping this one a secret. He's so bad at them, and even worse at confessing when he has to spit it out.

It kind of hurts to see her actually step away from him, like he'd actually use it or any of the other awful, terrible things he has, but he can't say he blames her.]

It came with the suit, just like everything else I can do. Reach tech.

[That's enough of an explanation, isn't it? The Reach had been prepared for nearly anything.]

[ She's trying to process this information while coming up with any valid reason why Jaime would keep something like this from her in the first place. They might not be close friends, but they're allies. Every time they spoke or met up with one another did it ever occur to Jaime to bring up the fact he hosts a weapon dangerous to her and Superman? ]

You never thought for a second that maybe I, of all people, would want to know about you carrying something that could hurt Superman and I?!
