He probably just assumed it would be a burden if he said anything. And even if you would've been super-nice about it, rejection is rejection. I guess the video was his way of getting it off of his chest without a whole lot of risk involved.
I guess it doesn't matter right now. I just wanted to make sure you feel alright about everything.
