Interrogation technique. It's where one cop pretends to be all friendly and nice and the other cop is mean and they work together to get what they need. It's really common in movies and stuff for things other than policework
Like if your mom is being really nice about something and your dad is really strict you can say that they play good cop bad cop too. That kind of thing
