It is. But you're already friends with most of the people I'd want help with. If you think I should meet anyone, let me know.

I was mostly thinking about the people we're both friends with. I think that we have practically all the same friends.

[...weird. Their friend groups got kind of smushed together.]

But I'll definitely let you know. I sort of thought about setting you up with a girl I know once but I'm pretty sure she's a one guy kind of lady

I thought Jaime-kun was very popular, with a lot of people I don't know as friends.

Oh? I guess that wouldn't work, then. But if you'd like to set us up as friends, I wouldn't mind.

I'm not sure about that. I guess I have a few more but not that many

[No, he's good at getting around. He just hasn't realized it yet.]

What's her name? I guess we are. His name's Riku. He didn't mind telling his friend about me, it just seemed like he hadn't known how to bring it up.

Then I guess if you guys are official now you're going to have to introduce him next time a bunch of us get together. I want you guys to meet Traci at some point too so I'll see if she wants to come too

I'll keep an eye out for her.

I'd definitely like to meet Traci. I didn't realize I should be telling everyone about Riku-san. [His double standard is a little silly.]

It's hard to know when to tell people right?

You could do that yeah. But I mean it's not like you have to report it or anything

It could just be that next time you meet up with everyone you tell them or when they ask how you are you tell them about your new boyfriend. It's not something you gotta plan

[Minato never really says much when people ask him how he is...]

Most of what I do doesn't seem relevant to them. Usually I just say I'm okay when they ask.

Rule one: when I ask you how you're doing I actually want to know. Even if it's just about someone who annoyed you at work or something nice that someone else did for you or something

Do I need a friendship guide?

I almost always am okay. I'm not lying. I don't really get annoyed very much. Is what I'm doing lately that important?

I wouldn't say that you need one but you sure need to realize that we actually care about you even when we're not actually with you. You're not like the Schrodinger's Friend we know that you exist when you're not around us

Do you think that what your friends doing lately is important?

[There's this moment when the double standard truly crosses his brain and Minato's not sure what to make of it. He has to sort of come at it sideways, and he's still unsure.]

Well, I know they care about me, but... I'd rather they didn't worry about me. If what they're doing is bothering them or important to them or is something I'm responsible for, I'd like to know, but I don't need help with anything.

[At least he thinks he doesn't-- ever. Which is the only reason Minato can find to bring it up. Sharing important events just to bond isn't something he's cottoned onto as something to participate in himself.]

It's not about whether or not we can help you though we'll do that too if you need it. It's just about catching up. We want to hear about what's important to you too and I know that it's not like nothing's important to you

[He's flummoxed for a second, staring at the text, before he puts a response together.]

It was okay. Americans have a lot of vacation so I worked a little longer today than normal, and practiced my English on break. One of the new imPorts is my coworker now. And I promised Ken-kun that I would go shoe shopping with him, because he liked the clothes I picked out for Shinjiro-san.

[A beat and then he proves he still has his snarky sense of humor by adding,] My friend that I text too much told me I should answer more completely, so I used more words this time.

Man your friend sounds so smart! I bet he's cool too

[...okay, moving on.]

So what clothes did you pick out for Shinji anyway?

He's actually a dork, but I like him.

If you've seen him lately, probably whatever he was wearing. Akihiko-san wanted him to get summer clothes but Shinjiro-senpai isn't really a 'summer'.
