Can you tell me about normal teenager birthdays? 16 is a big one, right?

Yeah, sure. 16 is pretty big for some girls who make a huge party out of it but I'm pretty sure it's just a normal birthday for most people.

But usually normal birthdays mean you have a party. Everyone I know usually just invites a bunch of people over for pizza and cake. Whoever's having the birthday usually gets presents from everyone

Why? Is it your birthday soon?

It was last week, actually. I guess it would mean more if I were going to learn how to drive or something.

If you still want to do something for it lots of people have their parties a while after their actual birthday if everyone was busy. And it's been busy.

It certainly has been busy. I was up in Alaska for awhile.

Sasha was talking about wanting to do a movie night before we left, I believe pizza is also involved in that.

You could always just mix the two and have a movie birthday party. Honestly that sounds pretty close to how my birthday parties always looked

What kinds of movies do you like? Maybe I can suggest a couple

I like the ones that are about real things, like whales or national parks. Or the ones that are sort of funny and someone sings? I don't like movies with a lot of fighting, or where there's some kind of monster around.

Dude you'll love Planet Earth. It's probably not the best for like a birthday party get together kind of movie but they're amazing

I imagine Sasha and Jean would be bored by that kind of thing, but we should definitely watch some sometime. :)

Yeah totally! Just so long as you tell me if you get bored bc it bores the heck out of my friends too

Though if it's for a bday movie... what did you mean by the ones where people are singing? like musicals?

NO WAY I WOULD GET BORED I really like learning stuff!!! There's so much to know about the outside world! Mountains and oceans and animals and rainforests and all of the amazing cultures of the world! I'm usually reading four or five books at a time! [Armin doesn't realize how he said 'the outside world' until he's sent the text, well, it's an honest mistake.]

[This time, there's a lag time in his response, mostly because he's looking back at Armin's handy dandy FAQ before bothering him with a bunch of questions. Looks like it's done the trick!]

I always forget that you guys stayed behind those walls. You only saw things like oceans for the first time once you came here right?

Yes, it was pretty impressive!!!!! Eren and I dreamed of seeing the oceans since we were kids - we weren't even supposed to talk about it, people didn't believe it existed! I still go all the time when I can!!!! I've been to the aquarium a bunch of times too but I get a little sad about seeing things in cages and tanks and so on

It's still the best shot you've got at being able to actually see some of these things up close and personal. Alaska must have been a trip for you too even though you guys were there for business

I know that your guys' situation isn't exactly ideal but it's pretty cool that you can experience these things when you're old enough to realize how cool they are

Maybe. Keeping something captive supposedly for its own good simply rubs me the wrong way.

That's one way to look at it, that we wouldn't take the sea for granted. It was a bit too cold to have much fun on the each in Alaska, but I was glad to see a new side of the ocean.

It's too bad that you can't get a passport to see the rest of the world. Then again I've never been that far from America back home either, and the passport wasn't a problem

A lot of the captive animals have something to do with extinction but I don't actually know much about it. Zoos and aquariums and stuff aren't really places I visit except when I was a little kid

With the school the way it is, there are only a few times of the year you can travel, right? And if you don't have much money you can expect to be working. It's too bad. Is there any place you'd like to visit the most?

I never thought about it much back home.

If I could get a passport here I'd like to see what this world's Mexico is like. That's the one place I visited at least once a year back home.
