This probably goes without saying, but watch your ass re: Project Chimera and how you tweak the time line around it. The only reason the UE doesn't have more of a presence up here in space is because they sunk all their funding into Chimera as opposed to space exploration

Right now we've got one (mostly) defunct rover up with us. You might want to think about introducing alternative research avenues in the UE that are more valuable than either Chimera or space to make sure our positioned isn't compromised

Honestly? This may be one of those six of one, half a dozen of another cases. I.e. I'm not sure there is an option that won't bite us in the ass at least a little bit. Energy efficiency? If they're not grooming a baby clone army, they'd want to make sure the one they had was capable of getting to and from with the minimum waste of resources. But again, that's going to cause trouble for us down the line
